File History has stopped copying

File History is set up on this computer, but it has not finished a backup recently. That usually means it was turned off, or it ran into a problem with the backup drive.

You'll see this whenSavedSafe says File History "Stopped".

Steps

  1. Make sure the backup drive is plugged in.
  2. Click the Start button, type File History, and open it.
  3. If it says File History is off, click "Turn on".
  4. Click "Run now" and wait for it to finish.
  5. If you see an error, click "Select drive" and choose the backup drive again.
  6. Run SavedSafe again to make sure the problem is fixed.

Good to know

  • If the drive keeps showing errors, it may be failing. Copy your photos to a new drive soon.
Done? Run SavedSafe again. When everything is protected, the report turns green.
