Check a backup app SavedSafe cannot see into

SavedSafe found a backup program on this computer, such as Backblaze, Carbonite, Acronis, or Macrium. It cannot look inside these programs, so it cannot tell whether they are working or which folders they cover.

You'll see this whenSavedSafe lists a backup app as "Found" but cannot confirm what it backs up.

Steps

  1. Open the backup program and look for the date of its last successful backup.
  2. Check that it includes your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders.
  3. If the last backup is more than a week old, follow the program's own steps to start it again.

Good to know

  • Many backup programs need a paid subscription. If yours has expired, it may have stopped quietly.
Done? Run SavedSafe again. When everything is protected, the report turns green.
